DESCRIPTION:
This Russian made self loading pistol was developed and accepted into service during 1931. It is a robust and reliable firearm firing the powerful 7.62 pistol round. It stayed in service until being replaced by the Makarov pistol in 1952. It was issued to officers and senior NCOs as their personal protection weapon and it was simple to manufacture and maintain in the field. It is still in service today with the Bangladeshi and North Korean Armed Forces. Elements of the Pakistani police still have it as their issue side arm.
